Privacy Policy

As of 21 December 2001 new privacy rules came into effect covering all personal information held by organisations. These laws regulate, among other matters, the way organisations use, disclose, collect, keep secure and give people access to personal information.

Ventura’s privacy policy is based on the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 and subsequent Privacy Amendment Act 2001 and on company policies to protect personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to the services offered by Ventura incorporating Ventura Motors Pty Ltd (Incorporating Mt Dandenong Passenger Services), Ventura Bus Lines Pty Ltd and Eastside Truck and Bus Service Centre Pty Ltd. Ventura is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. The following Privacy Policy explains our practices in relation to information you provide to Ventura.

 

1.Collection of Your Information.

Ventura collects personal information about you when issuing Ticket Infringement Notices and when we receive Employment Applications for vacant positions within our organisation.

 

2. Use and Disclosure of Your Information

The personal information collected by Ventura on the occasions when we issue Ticket Infringement Notices is forwarded to the Department of Infrastructure – Revenue Enforcement Group as per our Conditions of Accreditation – under Division 4A, Part 7, of the Transport Act. Personal information collected from Employment Applications is used to assess the suitability of applicants for vacant positions within our organisation.

Ventura may collect personal financial information to assess credit applications for debtors, to confirm the identity of users, bill customers for products and services and for use as account numbers in our record system. We will not share financial or unique identifier information with third parties without your prior consent.

Ventura will not use or disclose this information in any way, other than that disclosed in this policy.

 

3.Changing and accessing the Information we have about you

Ventura will use its best endeavours to ensure that the information it obtains is accurate, complete and up-to-date.

You may access or change information that Ventura has collected about you by placing your request in writing and sending your request to us.

Where it is established that personal information we hold about you is not accurate, or up-to-date, we will take all steps necessary to amend it.

Ventura will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information that we hold about you. Ventura has security measures, in place to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.

As a result, our business undergoes constant change and development as we introduce new services and facilities to our customers – the public of Melbourne. From time to time, because of this, our policies will be reviewed and may be revised.

Ventura reserves the right to change its privacy policy at any time and notify you by posting an updated version of the policy on its web site. Your use of the web site indicates that you accept the policy in place at that time. Please note that in the event of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy or similar corporate reorganisation we may transfer personal information to another corporate entity. In the event that this occurs, your personal information will in every other respect remain under the same privacy policy.
